Elk Release Update
In this story, we travel with Wild Side Guide Alan Griggs to the mountainous back woods of eastern Tennessee and the desolate yet beautiful landscape of New Mexico. Alan shows us the third release of elk into the Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area near Huntsville, Tennessee, part of the on-going reintroduction of elk into our great state administered and closely monitored by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and other groups. Once the elk herd reaches a certain number, limited hunting will be allowed. To preview what hunters here can expect, Alan took part in an elk hunting expedition in the rugged, high desert mountains of southern New Mexico. His report includes dramatic video of some sights hunters rarely, if ever, see.
