Working in the Wild - Creel Clerks
All you so-called outdoors experts who know what a creel is, raise your hand. Okay, a creel is a trap or basket that holds fish. And a creel clerk is a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officer who comes around to count the fish in your “creel.” He might check your license while he’s at it and probably measure and weigh your fish, all for a very good cause. Our Working In The Wild expert, Doug Markham, helps us understand how and why the creel clerk does his job.
To learn more about creel clerks, visit TWRA’s web site at www.tnwildlife.org or www.state.tn.us/twra/fish/Reservoir/AngSurv.html.
