Working in the Wild - Chronic Wasting Disease
Chronic Wasting Disease, a neurological disorder that is similar to Mad Cow Disease, has infected some deer and elk populations in the United States. Here in Tennessee, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is closely monitoring the deer population, even though the disease has yet to be found in our state. We talked with Wild Side Guide Doug Markham on opening day of deer season to find out how he and the agency’s wildlife officers are working in the wild to protect our Tennessee deer.
