Turkey Stocking - Jack Murrey

From Episode 1104

We’re about to introduce a man who could be called the “father of turkeys” in Tennessee. He’s Jack Murray, a man who dedicated almost his entire career at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to bringing turkeys back statewide. When Jack started his work, some counties didn’t even have turkeys and those that did had very few. Through hard work and some smart planning, Jack coordinated a turkey restoration that has become hugely successful. Today, turkeys are plentiful across our state. As Wild Side Guide Alan Griggs explains, turkey hunters owe a big “thank you” to a man whose love for the bird knows no bounds.
